Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 220 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations before we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing, reading, and thinking on a weekly basis in an informal setting.

Before The Film
The story comes off very dry at first. The dialogue very simple and with no detail to emotion. It makes it hard to envision what can be done with it visually. I can only imagine that a lot of imagination and exaggeration of the scenes we do see in the story would have to occur. Maybe the flashback to Victor and Thomas' childhood will be a much longer scene, making way to a dramatic moment when Victor calls Thomas after his father's death. I don't know if I love this story, so I'm hoping the movie will shine light on it better than words did.
