Before the Train and After

I love how stripped down this story is. Instead of transitioning, Nolte uses space breaks. There are no stage directions. (No one "stands up" or "walks out of the room" or "looks to the left.") She lets the dialogue just be, doesn't try to explain it. "What is it you want?" shows Paul's problems w/ Alison's depression. No one has to tell us that Jeremy can't take anything serious b/c we've seen that he jokes about everything from his hand growing back to whether he loves his wife or not.
