Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 220 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations before we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing, reading, and thinking on a weekly basis in an informal setting.

Before and after train responce
This short story was actually a challenge for me to follow Im not sure if I had a diffitcult time following the characters and the change of time in and out of the read but it confused me. What i can say about this peace is that even though he lost his hand in the process of touching a train he didn't loose himself. it seemed that his wife was more concern about his hand and the meaning that it held for her not more so him. My favorite line was "it's just a hand it'll grow back." for Jeremy to have such character in such a painful time shows his take on life
