Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 220 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations before we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing, reading, and thinking on a weekly basis in an informal setting.

response to Laramie project
the section that we read, perfectly encapsulates the Meta-ness of the play in general. We have a narrator introducing characters after they started to speak, but the narrator only serves to do that. The narrator doesn't say where the play is at, the time that passes or anything we regularly associate with a narrator's responsibilities. Then there's the break when the writers of the play, include themselves. Talking about wanting to skip a person's interview and rather just writing what the priest said, they included the dialogue they shared with him. so we see the skeleton of the play as it's being performed.
