Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 220 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations before we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing, reading, and thinking on a weekly basis in an informal setting.

Laramie Project
I feel my biggest realization or sadness of reading and watching a story based in the 1990's is how relevant it still is. How these violent acts still occur in today's world. Young adults facing acts of violence or bullying everyday, in 2018. Aggressors sometimes facing little consequence for their hateful actions. Families should not have to be put in the situation to make a choice regarding the justice that occurs for their child, nephew, niece, brother, sister. No family should have to face loss over hate. Watching the film was as emotion full as watching today's news. It only left me with one, saddening, question: when will it stop?
