Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 220 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations before we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing, reading, and thinking on a weekly basis in an informal setting.

Bicentennial Stanza 1 Response
The opening stanza of Bicentennial makes me think about the want to under, to wonder, to explore. As a human being we have a natural need to make connections to other beings. It gives the impression that Chiasson's intent is that this being is in search for another being to understand, explore, and wonder with, a partner in the exploration that is being alive. He/she wants that connection to share these experiences with. He writes about the way we look and observe different things, different people, the way our eyes wander in those observations.
