Response to the 7th stanza of Bicentennial

There's a sense of emphasis on how much better life was for the author back in his childhood. In general that emphasis is there but it's particularly clear in this stanza. When he says "...my childhood Before I had done anything yet I would regret." It just reads as a deep longing to go back to those times. Even though those times weren't perfect.
