Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 220 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations before we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing, reading, and thinking on a weekly basis in an informal setting.

Act 2 The Laramie Project
The author wants the readers to read the play as a conversation. It is a conversion about a hate crime. It is hate against gay people. I believe this is to raise awareness about hate crimes towards gay people. This could happen in your own town. There are people who see gay people as a sin to their religion. People have a hard time accepting gay people which could make someone attempt a murder. In the play, they are trying to solve the hate crime that went out against Matt. The parade that occurred, was support for Matt. I think certain characters would speak in a dramatic tone of voice for emphasize of concern or anger.
