Writing help websites I've found useful

Over my "career" as a writer I've found a bunch of websites that have helped me create better stories. This list of sites can help with research, editing, and inspiration for stories.

Research:

Havocscope.com : If you're ever interested in writing a crime related story and want to know the prices of certain illegal things/acts to make your story more realistic, but don't want to make your search history get you on a wanted list somewhere; then this site is for you! Find info on drugs, human trafficking, guns, contract killings, and other illegal things. And not just for America, you can get info for the black market of countries all over the world.

Osfcostumerentals.org: This site has clothes from all kinds of eras, ranging from ancient Greek and Roman, to Victorian period clothing. Even fantasy clothing You can look at the images of their wares and it makes a great reference should you want to describe clothing.

Editing:

Diffchecker.com : If you ever have two versions of the same story, you can paste them into this site and it will mark the differences in the texts.

Generators:
Character creation: this is a list of generators if you're having trouble coming up with clothes, appearances, names, cities, backgrounds, things, plot lines. Really anything you'd need to make a story.

Character crafting: This is a list of tips for writing characters. Like tips for writing LGBT characters and/or characters of color. Introductions, development, backstories, flaws, strengths, goals. Tips and tips and tips!
