The Rememberer

The Rememberer  

I thought that this was the best story in the collection because it has a lot of emotions and feelings in it. It felt real and it is something that some of us heard of or experienced.  

“Ben the salamander swim out. I wave to the water with both arms, big enough for him to see if he looks back.” I think this quote is the heart of the story because she is letting go of him, almost setting him free from the life he was suffering from.  

The question that it left me with in the end, was what would I have done, in the place of the author? Will I give up or stick around till the end? Sometimes we say that we will never leave but when things get tough we look for an alternative route.
