Sudden Fiction "The Rememberer"

This short story introduces its main idea with the first sentence "My lover is experiencing reverse evolution." This short story is about her lover who turned in to nothing, like humanity once was. I believe the writer is bring realism to this story because she is bring up the information of how we evolved into humanity. Through this dark story I can feel her pain on how much she misses her lover and feels alone, she emphasizes the fact that he will never come back. She will continue to do certain things in hopes she will see him once again.  After reading this story I would like to know if her lover every comes back and if anyone looks for him? Was he even real or a figment of her imagination? It doesn't make sense that no one would show up to her house to look for this man.
