The play The Laramie Project was performed by the actual members of the Tectonic Theater Project who performed the many interviews. When they put the play together I'm sure they were able to portray many characters due to having the opportunity to see them and observe how they behave. Also, while just talking they were able to catch up on the way they would speak. like their accent and everything. This gave the audience something real to watch. However, once the play was adapted into a movie with famously known actors, it changed. Obviously the actors will find ways in which they can make their character stand out. The fact that they have not met the actual people who were interviewed takes away  from the credibility of them portraying real people. So that right away changed the play. At least its credibility.
