"Smalltown Lift"

My interpretation of the poem I believe onomatopoeia is used in this poem when the poet refers to the clicking noises the photo booth makes when taking pictures in between the confessions being made by both characters. The italics in the poem reference the main character thinking in their mind, portraying some sort of emotion. The pronoun "he" being used in this poem refers to the second character. This poem doesn't give any back story or additional information it is very straight forward, it is what makes it a prose and not a short story. This poem would be different if it was broken into lines like other poems because its a continuous thought. This poem doesn't reference anything other than what being told; the best way to have told this poem is to not have any breaks in between the lines.
