Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 220 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations before we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing, reading, and thinking on a weekly basis in an informal setting.

March of the Hanged Man
Out of all the poems, this one was more confusing to me in a sense that I couldn't make up what it was trying to portray. Trying to match the beginning with the middle seemed like they did not go together. It seems like the poem does talk about religion in a sense, or at least the believe in hell. Therefore it focuses mainly on humans being sinners. This is the main weakness that many have, that is why in the fourth and fifth stanza it says that the "Christ" in Pier's Resurrection pays no mind to humans now. However, the people in the painting are dead. Would this be in hell? This also seems like a form of symbolism. Once somebody dies, they are usually forgotten.

not to big on religion but very big on the last sentence of this post. people are a convenience to one another, as sad as there is no greater truth. when you stop benefiting people you no longer have any value, now the majority abide by this while the others don't. it should be the opposite but our time is limited and a lot of us of are only surviving not living,
