Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 220 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations before we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing, reading, and thinking on a weekly basis in an informal setting.

A partial autobiography
"A partial Autobiography"by Craig Morgan is a very interesting poem I believe its about a young boy growing up and the issues he had to deal with growing up. He wished he was able to handle situations the way his mom did, assuming she handled them in a better manor. "I felt as incorrect playing baseball as a bear cub moving in with a family of turtles. Other boys sensed my fear of them and, I now think, were afraid they are missing something that should have scared them : themselves." I connected with him when he wrote that stanza because growing up, trying to "fit in" and make friends is really hard to sometimes especially when your shy or socially awkward. Craig Morgan makes another reference in the poem basically saying your worse enemy could be inside your head and that's the truth. We don't realize how difficult we are on ourselves sometimes.
