my social issue opinion

What concerns me the most about partaking in society is our entire history of abuse. We abuse the planet, we abuse drugs, we abuse other animals, we abuse other people, we abuse ourselves. (Of course there's a continuum to this 'scale of abuse', and it's always subjective). We abuse whenever we feel unable to handle misunderstanding, going after either ourselves or the source of whatever we're reaction to. There's something to be said about the influence of domestication in this historically complex pattern: in order to find peace with ourselves, we need to weed through and evaluate our entire history of behavior. We suppress ourselves as animals (by suppressing our senses), opting instead to present inauthentic, separatist ideas of what 'humanity' is (to ourselves and to the world). It's important to me that we allow ourselves to explore outside of that. Doing so would also help us released our suppressed senses- in effect, we'd be able to live in the moment.
I think it'd be great if we could practice being more conscious of our reactions and how they effect us, when they happen, and whatever curious-like approach. We tend to dip into the extreme sides of our beliefs (thus sprouting ideology) because we're so used to our reactions, which causes us to 'take sides' on issues. Taking sides on issues causes us to doubt oneness and lose objectivity. Additionally, we lean on them to survive, though they limit what we can do with ourselves. I don't wanna take sides anymore, and I'm done with trying to fit into an activist mold, too. I just wanna stay balanced, letting go of giving my power to my mind. This is how I believe I will free myself.
