Letter From Williamsburg (Intro Reflection)

In my opinion, the introduction to this essay is setting both the mood and theme of the rest of the essay. The author has raw, yet subtle statements to open the essay with, giving the reader the first impression that will be lasting throughout the longevity of the text. Starting with the prayers, she describes the different prayers associated with moments within one's life, then she subtly yet abruptly transitions to the futility of prayers as people go about life contradicting the context in which those prayers are said.

CONCLUSION: The author closes her essay by bringing her conflict and entire gripe that spawned this essay full circle. The starts the end with how people approach her with the burning question of what it's like to believe then just entirely stop. I believe her response was very straight forward yet had a small underlying meaning that was simply; you realize that it's not what you want in life, so you just live a life without it. Diving blindly into a playthrough of life without supreme consequences or conformities only to find that there was so much more than what was in your bubble of belief.
