Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 220 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations before we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing, reading, and thinking on a weekly basis in an informal setting.

Conclusion: Williamsburg
When I read this I wonder, Could he really be 33? It seems too perfect that he's the same age that Jesus was when he died. He's this Jesus figure walking around Williamsburg sleeping w/ women, challenging their faith and the logic of one man/one woman. I wonder what you all think? Is it okay to fudge the numbers in nonfiction for poetic effect? What if he's really just 32? Or if he's 35?

I did not read it that way. But that sounds interesting. It is like he lost himself in a type of way and he is trying to challenge those who lost themselves as well to turn to something greater(God), like that girl they picked up with the bicycle. Could it be he is targeting characters of such? Because there is no mention of him being turned down by others. And those are they ones he left to rethink of their deeds.
