Hey guys, this is a little something I came up with. Maybe the weather over the weekend created the mood.
FOREVER
Nothing
and no one are forever
What
is forever either way?
Seems
like forever is not what they say
You
learn the hard way
When
you least expect it
Gone
with the wind
Tell
me of someone
Whom
you will never lose
Doubt
you can say anything
Our
loved ones are borrowed
Until
life decides
To
take them back.
Your
first love
Something
so strong
Yet
uncertain, but who knew
Not
you, not you
You
thought it was a forever thing
And
one day you woke up alone
Families
are essential
Your
support system
The
unconditional love
They
grow old
Each
and every day
Until
they no longer have the energy
Slowly,
but surely
Your
home is dying
No
one seems to care though
They
believe, Earth is
Forever
But
what guarantees it
Wow, it sounds good yet also depressing. I can feel the emotions as I read each words, but that makes me wonder whether it's the accurate emotion that you felt or just an emotion that I tried to mimic in order to understand what was expressed here. It may be exciting or pleasant for someone else, and it may be depressing for me.
ReplyDeleteIs this the response for the ekphrastic poetry thing?

Hey Syed, this is actually her draft. It is not the ekphrastic writing.
DeleteGenuinely enjoyed reading this piece of work such emotion that I'm sure many of us can relate to, I'll blame it on the weather with you lol
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this great piece of yours. I can definitely feel the emotions and meaning of your poem. Losing the people you love can be very difficult. We do not have forever, especially with our loved ones. Some of us take them for granted and when they are gone, we feel all sorts of emotions. To me it is reminder, to love each other and cherish the happy moments, for we will never know when the wind is ready to take them.
ReplyDeleteI really like the flow of your words because I get the tone of the poem. Also it is very simple and it conveys a deep, meaningful message.
i really resonate with the whole concept of the poem, i truly believe what this poem is trying to convey. we often try to tell ourselves that our loved ones could never die that they could technically last forver. that is the image we feed ourselves but we know well enough that isnt the case. the day will come the day they do die but if come to term with reality and accept this fact than perhaps we can cope with it better. there is no guarantee this will work or that you should all it is is just a suggestion. but if you have time to think about what happens when they die then you arent spending enough time with them while they are living. take your parents for example for the majority of your teenage years you fought endlessly and said you hated them while they still put food on the table for you and you still have the auidacity to argue. we learn this to late and when there gone you ask why werent you kinder, why didnt you appreciate them more. that is your own fault so dont go asking anyone else. spend and cherish the time with them but not because they will die but because you want to, stop killing them. losing someone hurts trust me and no amount of time is ever enough but make yours and their limited time worth it.
